Flow: where gamma is building right now
TL;DR
- Flow reads fresh gamma across 1m/5m/10m/15m/30m and distills it to one bias: ▲ UP, ▼ DOWN, or ◆ PIN.
- Sign convention: + = gamma building above price, − = below. Longer windows weigh more in the bias.
- Use flow to time and qualify — PIN at spot means scalp-only chop; always sanity-check 30m against 1m.
Walls tell you the session’s structure. Flow tells you what’s changing — where fresh positioning is concentrating right now, over the last 1–30 minutes.
The three states (and only three)
The Flow panel — titled Flow — max change GEX — distills all the windows into one badge:

That’s the entire taxonomy — UP, DOWN, PIN. There’s no “build above/below” or “migrate” state; the whole point is to compress the noise into one usable bias.
How to read the table
Below the badge is a table with columns Win, Strike, Δ vs spot, and GEX Δ across the 1m / 5m / 10m / 15m / 30m windows. The footnote states the sign convention: “+ = gamma building above price, − = below. Longer windows weigh more in the bias.” So a positive Δ vs spot in the 30m window is a heavier vote than the same number at 1m.
The value we add
Multi-window change detection with a classified state. You don’t eyeball raw deltas across five windows — we weight them (longer windows count more) and hand back the pattern and its typical behavior.
Correct use & expectations
Use flow to time and qualify, not to enter. PIN at spot → scalp conditions, don’t swing. Flow building toward a wall above → that wall is being attacked or defended. Always cross-check the 30m window against the 1m before trusting a shift — short windows are noisy by design. Flow answers “what changed since I last looked,” not “what happens next.”
Flow is also the tool that tells you when levels migrated — which matters a lot for the “why do my 0DTE levels keep moving?” question in Part 6.

- Read the Flow badge: UP, DOWN, or PIN.
- If PIN, treat the session as scalp-only chop until it resolves.
- Check whether flow points toward a wall you marked — that’s the level in play.
- Confirm the 30m window agrees with the 1m before you trust a directional flow.
