0DTE vs Full: choosing your lens
TL;DR
- 0DTE = today's expiry, the violent intraday read that drives the engine. Full = all expiries, the stable structural picture.
- 0DTE levels move all session because 0DTE positioning is rebuilt live — moving levels are fresh information, not a bug.
- Beginners: start with a stable frame (Full + opening 0DTE levels) and monitor for major migrations.
The 0DTE / Full toggle changes which expiries the whole page is computed from. Same market, two lenses. New to same-day options? Our guide explains what 0DTE is and why its gamma dominates the intraday tape.
What each lens is for
0DTE is same-day expiry only — the nearest expiry, with the most violent local gamma, and the read that drives the intraday engine. Full aggregates across all expiries, showing the bigger structural picture: multi-day walls and swing context. Flip the toggle and every panel re-computes.
- Intraday / scalping → 0DTE.
- Position framing, next-day prep, “does this wall matter beyond today?” → Full.
- A wall that appears in both views is stronger — compare them.
A common frustration: “My 0DTE levels keep changing all session, but I see traders using constant levels — how?” The answer: 0DTE positioning is rebuilt live all session, so 0DTE levels are dynamic by nature. Moving levels are fresh information, not a malfunction.
Traders who use “constant” levels are usually doing one of two things: (a) reading Full-chain levels, which aggregate across all expiries and are far more stable, or (b) snapshotting key levels at a fixed time (pre-open or the first 30 minutes) and treating later changes as updates.
Two workflows
Stable-frame workflow (start here): mark the Full-chain levels and the opening 0DTE levels once, then monitor for major migrations. Calmer, fewer decisions, beginner-friendly.
Live workflow: follow 0DTE plus Flow continuously for scalping. More information, more noise, more screen time. The Flow panel (Part 5) is exactly what tells you when a level migrated and where it went.
Expectations
0DTE levels evaporate at the close — don’t carry them into tomorrow. Full-chain levels persist and are your overnight and next-day reference (with the caveats in Part 10).
Do this on the dashboard now
- Set the toggle to Full and note the biggest walls — your stable frame.
- Switch to 0DTE and note today’s intraday levels.
- Any level that shows up in both is a high-conviction level — mark it.
- If levels moving mid-session bothers you, start with the stable-frame workflow and let Flow flag real migrations.
